November 23rd at PenFelt Studio - Wooly Winter Crafting = Happiness

Calling All Felters!!

Iโ€™ve been felting for 15 years because I love the process of transforming wool fiber into felt. Through lots of experimenting Iโ€™ve found my favorite fibers and tools to work with. Stop by my studio to pick up supplies and then repeat this mantra: Wooly Winter Crafting = Happiness!!!

For me, the feel of the fibers in my hands and watching the wool transform into felt is a pleasure that never gets old. These are the materials and tools that I come back to again and again because they are such a joy to work with.

  • Japanese needle felting kits from Hamanaka (finally, theyโ€™re here!). I found these kits during my travels to Japan in April. From Schnauzers & Dachshunds to tiny baguette brooches, these kits are crazy cute designs and come with high quality supplies and instructions. Hamanaka is a woman-owned woolen yarn and fiber mill in Kyoto, Japan since 1956.๐Ÿ‘

  • Japanese felting books. My favorite for inspiration. ๐Ÿ”ฎ

  • Leather slippers soles for your felted slippers. I have three styles to choose from. Bring your slippers with you to get the best fit.๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

  • Felting needles and foam pads. Made in USA, sourced from a woman-owned company. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

  • Carded Wool from Harrisville Designs. This mill has kept the textile tradition alive in New Hampshire since 1794!! The best fiber for needle felting and it comes in gorgeous heathered colors. ๐ŸŒˆ

  • Combed Merino Top. My go-to for slippers and other wet felting projects.๐Ÿ‘

  • Specialty fiber like locks, angelina fiber and other fun things to play with. (Gnome beards anyone?)

Come early for the best selection of kits & colors! Better yet, jump start your winter felting and Felt a Gnome with me in the morning, and youโ€™ll get first crack at the supplies.
