November 23rd at PenFelt Studio

Calling All Felters!!

I’ve been felting for 15 years because I love the process of transforming wool fiber into felt. Through lots of experimenting I’ve found my favorite fibers and tools to work with. Stop by my studio to pick up supplies and then repeat this mantra: Wooly Winter Crafting = Happiness!!!

For me, the feel of the fibers in my hands and watching the wool transform into felt is a pleasure that never gets old. These are the materials and tools that I come back to again and again because they are such a joy to work with.

  • Japanese needle felting kits from Hamanaka. (finally, they’re here!). I found these kits during my travels to Japan in April. From Schnauzers & Dachshunds to tiny baguette brooches, these kits are crazy cute designs and come with high quality supplies and instructions. Hamanaka is a woman-owned wool company from Kyoto started in 1956.👍

  • Japanese felting books. My favorite for inspiration. 🔮

  • Leather slippers soles for your felted slippers! I have three styles to choose from. Bring your slippers with you to get the best fit.👟

  • Felting needles and foam pads. Made in USA. 🇺🇸

  • Carded Wool from Harrisville Designs. Milled at one of the few remaining large-scale fiber mills in the USA. The best for needle felting and it comes in gorgeous colors. 🌈

  • Combed Merino Top. My go-to for slippers and other wet felting projects.🐑

  • Specialty fiber like locks, angelina fiber and other fun things to play with. (Gnome hair anyone?)

Come early for the best selection of kits & colors! Better yet, Felt a Gnome with me in the morning, and you’ll get first crack at the supplies.
